MPR Associates has an immediate opening for a full-time Research Associate in our Berkeley, CA office. In this position, research associates help design research projects; manage and analyze data; write and collaborate on proposals, reports, and briefs for clients; present findings to clients and stakeholders; and supervise research assistants and/or programmers.

We are particularly interested in applicants with:

• Solid knowledge of K-12 education issues and school reform initiatives such as closing the achievement gap, high school graduation and dropping out, college readiness, and STEM;
• Some knowledge and experience with school, district, and/or state education data systems and their use for accountability and improvement.

Qualified applicants must have:

• An advanced degree in education, sociology, public policy, statistics, economics, demography, or other social science field and some relevant work experience;
• Expertise in quantitative research methods with experience in data management, preparation, and analysis;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clients and to organize and produce clear and concise briefs, reports, and presentations about data and complex issues;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and Stata statistical software;
• Proven ability to manage clients, multiple projects, and workflow effectively.
