Career & Technical Education (CTE)
National Assessment of Career and Technical Education
Since the 1980s, MPR has participated in each of the congressionally mandated National Assessments of Career and Technical Education and is currently leading the 2008–10 study effort. These studies, conducted in preparation for the next legislative reauthorization, provide detailed reviews of career and technical education in the United States. MPR’s role in these large-scale assessments typically focuses on accountability, financing, and program performance. View Study
Bringing promising practices to CTE in Oregon
To help Oregon improve its CTE programs, MPR examined promising practices in seven other states and then developed recommendations specific to Oregon. These included expanding postsecondary articulation agreements and creating a statewide model for connecting academics and CTE. MPR also developed strategies for improving CTE financing and administration and shared study findings at state legislative hearings. View Oregon CTE Study
