MPR’s work combines deep content expertise, a thorough understanding of data and analysis, innovative techniques for making data and research accessible to many audiences, and exceptional client service.
We focus foremost on our clients and how we can help them use our expertise, experience, and tools. Our work makes data and analysis useful to policymakers and practitioners — and enables us to build lasting relationships with our clients.
MPR was founded in 1981. Our approximately 80 staff members have a wide range of backgrounds in the social sciences, public policy, teaching, technology, and publication and dissemination. This diverse experience — and our expertise in all segments of the education pipeline — inform all of our work.
Our work focuses on K–12 school improvement; college and career preparation; postsecondary education, including community colleges; and adult education.
Our services include research and evaluation, policy analysis, Web design and technology tools, training and technical assistance, and materials development and dissemination.
We often are asked about the origin of our name. When MPR was founded, the letters stood for Management, Policy, Research. We still offer those services, but today MPR also concentrates on using technology to enhance its services; making data accessible to everyone, not just other researchers; and developing strategies and recommendations to further our clients’ policy and program goals. This broader focus is reflected in our tagline: Innovative Research, Practical Solutions.
